International Fireproof Technology Inc. (IFTI) recently announced that its spray applied coating, DC 315, passed over Icynene’s LD-C-50, 0.5 pound, open cell foam at 400 square feet per gallon.
DC 315 was tested by AC 377 appendix X standards as an ignition barrier. Using a tip size of .517, the coating was applied at a thickness of only 4 mils wet or 3 mils dry. As a result, DC 315 is the most cost effective ignition barrier option on the market, according to IFTI.
